ST. THOMAS — Marshals executing an arrest warrant Wednesday afternoon in Solberg, St. Thomas came under fire, with the V.I.P.D. describing the matter an ongoing.
Officers were initially fired upon at about 4:06 p.m. and additional resources were called to assist, said V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte. Marshals, VIPD and EMS were on the scene of the incident at time of publishing.
In a more recent update, the V.I.P.D. said officers were still responding to the incident at about 5:00 p.m., and that the matter was in progress.
Because the incident is occurring near the main Solberg road, motorists are being asked not to traverse the Solberg road.
In the V.I.P.D.’s latest update, Mr. Dratte said the suspect was in police custody and that charges would be forthcoming.
This is a developing story.
