ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Police Department announced Friday that fugitive Brett Kimelman was taken into custody at 6:53p.m. on Thursday by the Criminal Investigation Bureau after an investigation revealed that he was wanted in the state of Colorado for escaping a halfway house/parole program.
Kimelman, age 50, was arrested in St. Thomas, booked, and processed. He was given no bail at the request of the state of Colorado, according to police spokesman Glen Dratte. Kimelman was remanded to the Bureau of corrections pending the extradition process.
