ST. THOMAS — A man was shot in the upper body while at his residence in Mafolie on Saturday, the V.I. Police Department has announced.
According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, on Saturday at approximately 10:00 p.m. officers from the Richard Callwood Command were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for an apparent gunshot victim who had arrived at the Emergency Room via private vehicle.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a black male had been shot by unknown suspect(s) while by his residence on Mafolie Road, the V.I.P.D. reported. The male sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body and received treatment for his wound.
This case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone with information about this crime to call CIB at 340-774-2211 ex. 5576/5572. You may also send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI here.
