Man Arrested For Allegedly Depositing Fraudulent Checks Into His Personal Account Totaling More Than $5,000
ST. CROIX — Police on Monday arrested a man on charges of obtaining money by false pretense and grand larceny.
According to police spokesman Toby Derima, on Monday at roughly 10:35 a.m., detectives of the Economic Crime Unit arrested Kareem Edwards, age 38. He is accused of depositing fraudulent checks totaling more than $5,000 into his personal account on February 25 and 26, 2020.
Unable to make bail of $20,000, Edwards was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing.
