VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Department of Public Works (DPW) joins the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Government of the Virgin Islands in celebrating National Public Works Week, May 16 – 22. This year’s theme – Stronger Together – reinforces a common thread of one of the department’s core values: building partnerships and working together to create a better Virgin Islands.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic prevents DPW from celebrating with in-person activities, the department wishes to publicly acknowledge the hard work of each employee, as they continue to provide essential services to the people of the territory.
“Every engineer, project manager, support staff and leader plays a vital role in pushing the department’s mission forward,” said Derek Gabriel, DPW Commissioner Designee. “I want to take this opportunity to salute each member of our staff. Know that your contributions are valuable and necessary.”
The department invites the community to join in celebrating and acknowledging the efforts of the V.I. Department of Public Works, as each DPW Ambassador is also a part of the Virgin Islands community. DPW wishes to thank Governor Albert Bryan Jr. and Lt. Governor Tregenza Roach for the National Public Works Week proclamation, and for paying tribute to the dedicated employees of the Department of Public Works.
