The community of Christiansted, St. Croix, is mourning the loss of Milton Gordon, a 66-year-old homeless man who was found lifeless on Company Street on Sunday, with multiple gunshot wounds. Known as Bobo, Gordon was a familiar figure in the community, and his tragic death has sparked conversations about the need for greater support and assistance for homeless individuals.

Local organizations, including The Collective Collaboration (TCCI), which works directly with homeless individuals in the area, have expressed their sorrow and frustration over the senseless killing. TCCI released a statement remembering Gordon as a man who never stole or abused anyone, but simply asked for help. They urged the community to show compassion towards those in need and called for more resources to address the issue of homelessness.

Residents have also taken to social media to share their memories of Gordon and call for an end to the violence that plagues their community. Many have expressed their hope that his death will not be in vain and will inspire positive change and a renewed focus on providing assistance to those struggling on the streets.

As the investigation into Gordon’s murder continues, the V.I.P.D. is appealing to the public for any information that may help bring the perpetrators to justice. In the meantime, the community remains committed to honoring Gordon’s memory and working towards creating a safer, more compassionate environment for all.
