ST. CROIX — An Alabama woman became the latest person to upload a fake Covid-19 test result into the USVI Travel Portal, said the V.I.P.D. in a news release.
According to police spokesman Toby Derima, officers of the Covid-19 Enforcement Task Force on Thursday at 1:54 p.m. arrested 41-year-old Franketa A. Taylor of Birmingham, Alabama, and charged her with fraudulent claims upon the government, access to a computer for fraudulent purposes, use of false information, and filing or recording forged instruments.
Mr. Derima said it was discovered that Taylor submitted an altered negative Covid-19 test result into the USVI Travel.
Unable to make bail of $5,500, Taylor was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advisement hearing.
